Jonas Wachinger studied Psychology (B.Sc.) at Ulm University in Germany and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2011. Subsequently, he went abroad to Pune, India for one year to work for an NGO that engages in participative and healthy city development. Since 2015, Jonas has been majoring in two disciplines (M.A. Health and Society in South Asia / M.Sc. Psychology) at Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg, Germany. Working as a research assistant his current focus lies on cultural influences in prenatal diagnostics and selective abortions between Germany and India. Jonas further received academic scholarships from the DAAD and the South Asia Institute in Heidelberg for his field research on the Vipassana meditation in the context of his masters thesis.
