Markus Kaltenbach studied architecture and urban planning at the Karlsruhe University / KIT, earning his diploma in 2013. During his studies he won the Prize of the Faculty three times and received scholarships from DAAD, KIT and the University of Art and Design Linz. Before working for Albert Speer & Partner, he worked for UN-Habitat in Kenya and UM-net. He has participated in projects in such countries as India, Madagascar, Ghana, North and South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Iran as well as in Europe. He taught international urbanism at the Darmstadt University / MA Urban Studies from 2014-2015 and was guest lecturer at various universities. Currently he is assistant professor for urbanism and researcher at the KIT. As founding member of Raumgeschichten e.V. he was project leader of the Ghana workshop in 2015.
